When working with pipes carrying potentially hazardous liquids or gases under extreme pressure, it is imperative the integrity of each weld is verified. Weld testing not only minimizes the risks of leaks but also helps extend the life of your equipment. It also, and most importantly, protects the lives of your clients and staff.
ITS provides on-site weld testing services utilizing the latest technology in order to offer faster, more economical and reliable testing than traditional methods.
What is Hydrostatic Weld Testing?
Hydro weld testing is commonly used to test the strength and leakages of piping systems, gas cylinders, and boilers.
This method of testing is a non-destructive way to prove the integrity of the weld. The test is performed by flooding the pipeline with demineralized water. In the past, this process was executed by flooding the entire system with thousands of gallons of water. This method was not only time-consuming but also a costly and logistical nightmare for disposal.
Our new testing method streamlines the process without impacting results. We are able to test a 40in flange with 2 gallons of water as opposed to thousands of gallons of water.
